Stretch fabrics are fabrics manufactured from elastomeric yarns with high elastic properties. The parameters observed during the manufacturing of the stretch fabric influences the final stretch properties like level of stretch and recovery of the fabric.
Important properties of stretchable fabrics are durability, breathability, freedom of movement, and comfort fit. Furthermore, good elasticity is also essential, as the degree of elasticity decides the end use of stretchable apparels.
New technologies have been tried to enhance elastic properties of spandex plaited knitted fabrics. It is very essential to evaluate the elastic properties of spandex plated knitted fabrics for the development of functional sportswear.
