According to customs statistics, China's cotton imports registered 169,000 tons in June, representing a 20.1 percent reduction year-on-year, but a 10.9 percent increase from the previous month.
From January to June, China imported 735,000 tons of cotton in total, showing a reduction of 507,000 tons from the same period last year, or down 40.8 percent.
As of June, China's cumulative cotton imports reached 1.206 million tons in 2008 cotton year, indicating a reduction of 834,000 tons or down 40.9 percent year-on-year.
