A handicraft's shop and promotion centre named 'Gift House' established by 24 entrepreneurs in the district headquarters, has been attracting a number of customers such as government officials, local residents as well as internal and external tourists.

It is difficult to find hand-woven products in the market and the cottage handicraft products are the best quality products, said the officials. In this gift house, various handicraft goods are put on display for sale such as hand-woven bags, handkerchiefs, sweaters, shawls, caps, mufflers, purses, shoes, sandals and bamboo products.

The handicraft business had been witnessing a down turn in this district, but now it is growing gradually.

The cottage and small industry, provided training to these 24 entrepreneurs, aiming to sell and promote the handicraft goods. After this training these entrepreneurs had jointly set up the gift house. This house has helped the entrepreneurs to increase their business.

These entrepreneurs have been exporting handicraft products to India, Sweden, USA, Switzerland, the U.K., Korea and Canada, said Kul Bahadur Rai, manager of the Gift House.
