According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in the period January to May, China had 440 large hemp textiles and hemp product manufacturers, down 1.79 percent year-on-year, of which 96 were loss making concerns.
Hemp textile and hemp product manufacturing companies achieved a total income of 10.40 billion Yuan, an increase of 7.59 percent year-on-year in the same period.
Among them, main business income of hemp textile enterprises scored 8.72 billion Yuan, up 8 percent, while main business income of hemp product manufacturers fetched 1.67 billion Yuan, an increase of 5.49 percent.
The entire industry realized total profits of 326 million Yuan, a reduction of 28.36 percent year-on-year, of which hemp textile enterprises produced profits of 199 million Yuan, an increase of 5.43 percent; hemp product manufacturers produced profits of 128 million Yuan, a reduction of 52.20 percent year-on-year.
Total liabilities of the entire industry came to 12.45 billion Yuan, an increase of 0.76 percent year-on-year; among them, total liabilities of hemp textile enterprises marked 11.31 billion Yuan, an increase of 2.38 percent; total liabilities of hemp product manufacturers indicated 1.146 billion Yuan, a reduction of 12.84 percent year-on-year.
Export delivery value of the industry achieved 845 million Yuan, a reduction of 14.46 percent year-on-year. Among them, export delivery value of hemp textile enterprises was 792 million Yuan, a reduction of 9.68 percent; export delivery value of hemp product manufacturers was 52 million Yuan, a reduction of 52.61 percent year-on-year.
Total employees of the industry were 109,300, a reduction of 11.05 percent year-on-year; of which, 96,900 employees were in hemp textile enterprises, a reduction of 11.10 percent year-on-year, while 12,400 people were employed in hemp product manufacturing enterprises, a reduction of 10.68 percent year-on-year.
