According to Mr Raj Rajendran, Managing Director of the Rwanda based textile group, UTEXRWA, it will start supplying customized cotton bags and other textile products to the US based coffee retailer, Starbucks.
On a visit to the Rwanda factory of UTEXRWA, the CEO of Starbucks was fascinated by the range of textile products and expressed interest in placing orders for a few of the products to be kept across its retail network.
Speaking to Fibre2fashion, Mr Rajendran said that his company's exports to the US was around US $6.5 million last year and he expects Starbucks to place bigger orders with the passage of time.
Divulging details of the deal, Mr Rajendra said that Starbucks will provide the designs and patents for the products and they would supply the final products.
