Ethylene prices continue to climb in US markets

Ethylene prices for CFR Northeast Asia, which have fallen since the past three weeks continued their descent on Aug 12. However, ethylene prices for CFR Southeast broke the trend of fall in prices and registered gains, when compared with those prevailing on last Wednesday.
CFR Northeast Asia tumbled down from $995-997 per metric ton to $940-941 per metric ton on August 12. CFR Southeast prices though reversed the trend and gained by growing from $1010-1012 per metric ton to $1020-1022 per metric ton.
Ethylene prices in the FD Northwest Europe and CIF Northwest Europe have managed to retain the same prices for the second consecutive week and remained steady at €770-775 per metric ton and $890-900 per metric ton, respectively.
Prices of ethylene in the US markets too continued the trend set since the last three weeks of moving in the northwards direction and moved from US cent 24.250-24.500 per pound on Aug 5 to US cent 25.250-25.500 per pound, yesterday.
