IFAI to co-organise technical textiles conference in India

The Industrial Fabrics Association International has announced that it will be a Supporting Organization for the 6th edition of the "Advances in Textiles, Machinery, Nonwovens and Technical Textiles (ATNT-2009), conducted by Texas Tech University in collaboration with Bannari Amman Institute of Technology (BIT).

The conference will be held December 7-9, 2009 at BIT in Sathyamangalam, in the Coimbatore region; and will bring industrial and academic experts from many parts of the world to deliberate on the latest topics in the field of value-added textiles. For the past five years Texas Tech University has been providing an international platform in the Coimbatore area for exchanging cutting-edge topics and ideas on emerging textile field such as nonwovens, specialty fabrics and technical textiles.

According to IFAI President & CEO Stephen Warner, " We are honored to be a supporting partner for this important industry conference. IFAI is dedicated to expanding awareness of specialty fabrics and cooperation between international textile companies and organizations. ATNT-2009 is an exciting international forum for idea exchange, collaboration and business partnerships."

ATNT-2009 will be a valuable forum where industry, academia, policy makers and trade associations can discuss the latest developments in the textiles field. Emphasis will be given to value-added textiles such as nonwovens and technical textiles.

The conference will focus on finding solutions to some of the difficulties faced by the Indian Textile Industry and will provide information on new market opportunities for global players. India now offers 100% foreign direct investment opportunities in the textile sector.

-Technology and Marketing of Technical Textiles
-Eco-friendly Textiles
-Functional Finishes
-Nanotechnology in Textiles
-Defense Textiles
-New Developments in Spinning, Weaving, Processing

Important features of this year's conference will be:
-Tips to diversify with the existing infrastructure and enhance the textile sector's core competency
-Discussion related to international tie-up opportunities in both technology and marketing

Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar of Texas Tech University who originated the now internationally recognized ATNT conference is working jointly with Dr. A. Venkatachalam, the Dean of the Department of Textile Technology at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, to conduct the event. ATNT-2009 is held under the leadership of Balasubramaniam, Chairman, Bannari Amman Group, India.
