Formation of a new Government
The 15th Lok Sabha General Election verdict was in favour of stable, progressive and export friendly Government and the new Government formed under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh, Architect of Reforms has already set an Agenda to complete the unfinished tasks and create an atmosphere that will give a leverage to the industries to face the challenging environment arisen in the global market. Thiru. Dayanidhi Maran young, dynamic and proven administrator has become the Union Minister of Textiles and I am confident the Hon'ble Textile Minister will take more initiatives and deliver the same success in our industry also.
Textiles Ministry has come out with 100 days agenda for addressing the priority issues and in the Union Budget 2009-10 and some of our requisitions had been addressed after taking up the stock of the exports situation. The Hon'ble Union Minister of Textiles has been emphasising to explore the new markets other than US and EU, and as a first step under LOOK EAST Policy, he led a delegation to Japan, in which I was also a member of the delegation, on the occasion of the Combined Mega Apparel and Textile Exhibition at JFW International Fashion Fair in Tokyo between 22nd to 24th July 2009.There are excellent opportunities available for us to increase our exports to Japan with continuous follow up and supplying the desired quality garments.
