NTC Forum to be held in October

The 2009 NTC Forum will be held October 26-27, 2009, The Hyatt Regency - Greenville, SC. It will be held in conjunction with the AATCC Innovations in Functional Materials, Sports & Defense Technologies, and Composites Symposium in order to provide increased opportunities for collaboration between NTC and Industry
The NTC Forum will include a poster session on the evening of October 26, a student presentation program in the afternoon of October 27, as well as opportunities to interact with NTC faculty and students on both days. The poster session will include currently funded NTC projects (approximately 40).
The posters will cover a variety of topics, including: Protective Clothing, Biomedical Textile Research, Electronic Textiles & Fibers, Nanofibers, Geotextiles, Inkjet Printing, Fiber Processing, Lubricants & Finishes, Novel Fibers, Anti-Counterfeit Fibers, Energy Research involving Textiles, Fluid Flow in Textiles, Filtration, Composites, Fiber & Fabric Manufacture, Global Fiber-Textile-Apparel Business Strategies, Environmental Sustainability, Textile-Apparel Marketing, Fabric-Skin Interaction, Apparel Product Development, and Apparel Fit Assessment.
Project participants will staff each poster, to provide opportunities for discussion and for development of technology transfer possibilities.
Symposium presentation topics will include composites (green nanofiber, cotton, and braided composites; and composites in ballistics and space applications); sports technology (innovations; engineering design); functional materials (energy storage, tissue engineering, nano-diamond materials); and defense technology (impact protection, demand toughening, anti-bacterials, gas permeability, biosensors, ballistic materials, breathability of military uniforms).
Overnight accommodations are available at the Hyatt Regency Greenville, 220 N Main St. , Greenville , SC 29601 USA , +1 864 235 1234 or +1 800 233 1234. Reservations should be made directly with the hotel and attendance at the AATCC symposium should be specified to receive the group rate of US$119 single/double. Reservations must be made by October 2, 2009 to ensure room availability.
The registration fee for this program is $425 for NTC poster presenters. A student registration fee of $175 is available to student poster presenters and AATCC student members. The general registration fee is $499 for individual and corporate AATCC members and $749 for non-members before October 9. Registration will include luncheons, breaks and a copy of all available papers. Refunds will be made if cancellations are received on or before October 19, 2009. A $75 cancellation fee will be charged.
