Toray develops organic photoelectric conversion layer

Toray, the Japan, based textile major which has always been in the forefront of technological innovation in the field of textiles, has developed an organic photoelectric conversion layer.

Fibre2fashion spoke to spokesperson of the company who shared that it is not a “Solar film for garments” and that the material does not work as solar film by itself or cannot be applied as paint or dye.

The spokesperson added by saying that the organic photoelectric conversion layer is called a donor material and what they have developed is one component of a solar cell.
