SmartStrand carpet vs. 2,800 lbs of Rhino - ultimate test

Mohawk and DuPont are putting SmartStrand with DuPont Sorona to the ultimate challenge.
Meet Ricko, a 2,800 lb, 12-year-old black rhino who lives at the Birmingham Zoo in Alabama (U.S.). Ricko recently received a home makeover from Chip Wade of HGTV's “Designed to Sell.”
Chip's renovation for Ricko included SmartStrand with Sorona carpet in a lovely beige color to complement his home's new paint color. For two weeks – which began August 14 – Ricko will put the carpet through the ultimate test.
This is no ordinary carpet and Ricko is not your ordinary 12-year -old. Ricko is not housebroken and loves to roll in the mud to stay cool on hot summer days. So this carpet is undergoing an extraordinary test -- then again, this is no ordinary carpet.
After the two-week campaign, the carpet will be cleaned – actually, half the carpet will be cleaned, then cut into strips to show the before-and-after results of the two-week test. Samples will be used at the upcoming Mohawk conventions this fall.
