Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (Sinochem Quanzhou) has selected UNIPOL Polypropylene Process Technology for its new 200 KTA polypropylene facility. The plant will be built in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, The People's Republic of China, and is expected to come on line in 2011.

This world-scale facility is the sixth polypropylene plant in China to license UNIPOL Polypropylene Technology from Dow Basic Plastics. The facility will mainly produce homopolymers. Products will be marketed in China and abroad.

“We are honored that UNIPOL Polypropylene Technology has been chosen by Sinochem Quanzhou for their first polypropylene plant,” said Karen S. Carter, Global Commercial Director, Dow Polypropylene Licensing and Catalyst business. “Our customers choose the UNIPOL PP Process because the technology will enable them to build and operate the most competitive and advantaged facility capable of producing a full range of performance polypropylene products to serve the market's ever changing needs. We are very pleased to welcome Sinochem Quanzhou into our growing family of UNIPOL Polypropylene Technology licensees in China.”
