ABIT, through Texbrasil, a program for encouraging exports developed in partnership with Apex-Brazil, brought four international buyers to know the textile and apparel industries. The buyers made the most of their stay in São Paulo and also went to know the decoration fabrics showcase organized by TexBrasil Décor. Juan Antonio Olarte (Colombia), Jorge Zarebsky (Argentina), Nazmi Sar (Turkey) and Ercilia Aretu (Uruguay) checked the news closely. The showcase ran from the 17th to the 21st of August at the Salão Abimóvel, in Sao Paulo, with the participation of 17 companies in the sector, which presented their releases to around 3.5 thousand people, among fabric distributors and entrepreneurs of the furniture industry. It was an investment of approximately R$ 1 million in an area of 1.6 thousand square meters.

According to Ramiro Sanchez Palma, Coordinator of TexBrasil Décor, the impact of space for decoration fabrics exceeded expectations. "Our showcase has actually gained much strength, the confirmation is the increasing number of visits to events and invitations from several organizers to participate in other events of the sector", he explains. Ivonete Oliveira, of Tecidos Estrela, was also excited: "The results were great, every day was excellent. Customers have really come to do business, besides getting to know the releases. We had the visitation of buyers from various regions and the sales volume exceeded our expectations", she said.

TexBrasil Décor chose the Fabrics Showcase to launch the first Needlepoint Booklet, Use and Conservation of Decoration Fabrics. The publication reaches the decoration market in order to meet the needs of the furniture sector, besides contributing to the excellence of the production processes and to obtain higher quality of the final product. The booklet is the result of a long study by TexBrasil Décor, which diagnosed what were the major problems presented by the furniture sector, in relation to the proper way to use fabrics for decoration. "For the reception of this publication, we are sure it will be an effective instrument to support professionals of the furniture market", said Ramiro.

Formed by 21 companies, he objective of TexBrasil Décor is to improve the quality of decoration fabrics in the Brazilian market and provide the continuous development of the industry with creativity and technology. The Committee has an estimated production of 2.5 million meters of fabric per month, in jacquards, chenille, Staubli, rustic, lace, voile, organza, matelasse, prints and black-out. This production, which is marketed in Brazil and abroad, is used in the manufacture of curtains, upholstery, flooring, tapestry, bed and table artifacts, among others.
