The Union Textile Minister on his maiden visit to the textile cluster of Surat assured to give strong support to the demand made by the garment exporters in Surat Apparel Park SEZ, to de-notify the SEZ status to a regular apparel park.

While speaking to a delegation from the Surat Apparel Park Association (SAPA), Mr Dayanidhi Maran said that, he strongly believes that, in today's times, when there is a recession in the global markets, Indian textile and clothing manufacturers must turn their attention towards the domestic retail markets.

He also asked them to take full advantage of latest technology and supply best quality products to the Indian market and at the same time be more productive, reliable and fruitful.
