Uzbek Cotton Fair helps establish concrete business

As the sixth world's largest producer of cotton and consistently the second largest exporter, Uzbekistan is undoubtedly one of the leading participants on the international cotton scene.
From year to year, stable cotton production allows Uzbekistan to put into effect a sure-footed export policy, aimed to increase the export efficiency as well as maintain the share and competitiveness of Uzbek cotton on prospective markets. A wide range of consumers around the world became familiar with the trademark as UZBEK COTTON due to the well-defined and enormous marketing efforts.
One of the main steps in this direction became holding of the International Uzbek Cotton Fair on annual basis. Primary goals of such endeavour are to establish concrete businesses and to strengthen the long term cooperation in cotton trade, as well as to familiarize the Uzbek cotton consumers with its quality characteristics, latest novelty in cotton production, trading practices and logistics. Large volumes of Uzbek cotton will be exposed at the Cotton Fair.
The First International Uzbek Cotton Fair was conducted with a great success in 2005 and about 200 international companies participated in the event. Along with that, the number of companies participated in the Cotton Fair increased to more than 300 in 2008.
The upcoming 5th International Uzbek Cotton Fair will be held on October 14 -15, 2009 in Tashkent. Participants will have an opportunity to establish long-term agreements with Uzbek exporters for the current and future crops. Round table meetings and bilateral negotiations between the exporters and consumers of the Uzbek cotton are to be held during the Cotton Fair.
Moreover, in the framework of the Cotton Fair it is planned to discuss the current problems and prospects of the development of the world cotton market as well as to learn competent views of the leading international experts on the different topics of the world cotton and textile industries.
