Blazing market for denim fabrics imminent

Global demand for denim fabric is estimated by industry analysts to grow by 5 – 6% in the next year. Indian denim market is estimated to be around Rs 2000 crore.

The growing demand for jeans among people of all ages is now attracting more international brands into this segment in the Indian market.

More and more Indian youngsters are becoming fashion conscious today. Increase in the amount of disposable income, has simultaneously increased the market for premium category of jeans wear brands.

Denim apparels are becoming a fashion statement in India, and are preferred by all class of people and at all ages. Known for their durability, they have a unique feature, and look all the more appealing as they fade.

A rebellious pair of simple jeans, and a designer wear, both have the same appeal among the shoppers.

Denims have kept fashion designers to come up with new innovative designs. Brands such as Flying Machine, UFO, Avis, and Wings are established successfully in the Indian market.

Other brands such as Guess and Diesel are making inroads into the market.
