Brennels strives to produce fine count nettle fibre fabrics

The nettle fiber seems to take up more quantity of dyes, compared to cotton, but also uses less dye-stuff for the same colour intensity. This is one of the special properties of the nettle fiber which will be investigated in depth.
For their own fall collection, they will launch knitted garments with a nettle and organic cotton blend of 25:75 in composition and 32:68 composition for woven clothing. The woven fabric contains an open end spun yarn with 80 percent nettle and 20 percent organic cotton in the weft direction and it will try to increase the fineness every season with higher percentages of nettle.
Up to know, Brennels has been able to ring spin a blend of 70 percent nettle and 30 percent organic cotton in Nm50 in trials and it is also working to delivering high quality yarns with finer and finer counts, to manufacture fabrics and garments, able to meet the most demanding requests by its customers.
