| Floods hit Rajouli weavers hard | | October 09, 2009 (India) | | Floods in Andhra Pradesh have left its wrath on the traditional handloom weaving industry Rajouli village in Mehboobnagar. The place is specifically recognized for weaving beautiful Gadwal saris. Weavers of this village have been affected drastically due to the floods as it has ruined all the raw materials, saris and looms.
This drastic situation, occurred due to the natural calamity, which is forcing the weavers of Rajouli to move out of the village as, everything has been devastated and there is nothing left in the village, neither food to eat or money to set up the handlooms again.
Weavers of the village sourced raw material from all parts of the state but all the raw materials such as yarns and zari borders are now unusable and they are now depending on the government to help them out of this situation.
