October weather to be conducive to cotton boll opening

According to information from the National Meteorological Center, in September, temperatures in most regions of the country were higher than normal with North and Northwest regions of China receiving abundant rainfall.
Temperatures in most areas of Xinjiang were as low as 1 ~ 4 C in the first half of the month, due to which flowering progress of most cotton plants was delayed. But as temperatures rose in mid and late September, heat conditions were conducive to cotton boll opening.
Frost appeared in the first fortnight of September, affecting some local crops in North-eastern parts of Xinjiang. Central part of Northwest, south-east, north-south and Huang-Huai areas had rainy weather in the first half of the month, which was not conducive to cotton boll opening.
Southern Shaanxi, Henan, south-west of Shandong had less than 20 hours of sunlight, due to which maturing of crop and harvest time was delayed by 4 to 8 days, than normal harvest period.
Some cotton bolls in central and western part of Huang-Huai areas were rotten and stiff, which affected yield and quality as in late September, these areas had high temperatures and drier weather.
In Jiang-huai and Jiang-han areas, for most of the month, it was blessed with fine weather, with both, light as well as temperatures, appropriate to cotton boll opening.
In October, weather in most of the country is expected to be higher than normal, except temperatures will be lower than normal in eastern part of Gansu, central and southern Ningxia,most parts of Shaanxi, southern Shanxi, western Henan and northwestern Hubei.
Precipitation will be higher than normal in southern areas of the northeast region, northeast area of the northern region, eastern areas of the northwest, most parts of the southwest region and west of the southern region.
