Chinese exports of gray silk fabrics down, to India up

According to Chinese customs statistics, China's exports of gray silk fabrics registered 134 million meters, worth US $334 million from January to August; average unit price was $2.49 per meter all down by 0.41 percent, 13.6 percent and 13.24 percent, respectively year on year. The export revenues accounted for 17.88 percent of China's total export value of silk goods.

Exports of gray silk fabrics to India reached 43.99 million meters, export amount realized US $101 million, representing an increase of 17.2 percent and 18.62 percent year on year, respectively, market shares of export volume and amount accounted for 32.75 percent and 30.35 percent, respectively, average unit price was US $2.3 per meter, an increase of 1.21 percent year on year.

Exports of gray silk fabrics to Pakistan completed 24.58 million meters to generate revenue of $46.4 million, up 163.66 percent and 130.02 percent, year on year, respectively, market shares of export volume and amount increased from 6.91 percent and 5.22 percent in the same period last year to 18.3 percent and 13.89 percent; average unit price was US $1.89 per meter, down 12.76 percent year on year.

Exports of gray silk fabrics to Italy achieved 21.83 million meters in volume and $58.99 million by value, down 27.07 percent and 34.57 percent year on year, market shares of export volume and amount realized 16.25 percent and 17.66 percent, respectively; average unit price was US $2.7 per meter, down 10.28 percent year on year.
