Launch of Yarn of Excellence for landscaping sector at FSB

Specifically, the most stringent restrictions, recently set forth in the US Synthetic Turf Council (STC) voluntary reduction standards, provide that the level of lead will be reduced to 300 ppm (parts per million) or less by no later than 1 January 2010, and to 100 ppm or less by no later than 1 January 2012. Radigreen Landscape Excellence yarns, as certified by the Italian Institute for Toy Safety, already have lead content well below 50 ppm.“
“Furthermore, on the subject of certified Radigreen yarns,” Panico continued, “it was proven that our products are phthalate free. These kind of tests are carried out to determine the level of harmful substances in materials in case they are ingested or come into contact with the skin over a prolonged period of time. IIGS certification is an important achievement, because it represents quality assurance for the end user of synthetic turf made with our yarns.”
The artificial grass market is becoming ever more demanding and mindful of issues related to the potential impact of the various raw materials on people and the environment.
“From both company and industry standpoints, being able to provide a quality and safety guarantee is not only a crucial factor to stay competitive,” Radigreen Sales Manager Luca Girelli said, “but also an important duty to all the consumers and end users of our products, even more so if the recreational spaces created with our yarns are used by young children. In fact, the IIGS certification covers all the polyethylene, polypropylene and polyamide products which contain IIGS tested colour combinations. These are high-end products. specifically designed for the landscaping and sports sectors. They are available in different types — doubled, twisted or textured monofilament; curly or twisted monotape; and curly or twisted fibrillated — and can be combined to make highperformance synthetic turf with different looks, all the while reducing the quantity of infill needed.
The broad knowledge and know-how acquired by the Group on raw materials, production processes and final applications allow us to develop high quality customized products for our customers, always in strict compliance with product safety laws and regulations.
