Judith Donovan CBE has joined the British Wool Marketing Board as an Independent Member.

Having founded her own marketing agency in 1982 she was awarded the “Yorkshire Business Woman of the Year” and “Yorkshire Woman of the Year” titles and her business was twice featured in the Independent's “100 Fastest Growing Companies”.

Judith has chaired the Bradford Training and Enterprise Council and was the first ever female president of Bradford Chamber of Commerce.

Her company, which had a turnover of £12.5M, was sold in 2000 after which Judith embarked on a Public Sector NED career, and has been a Millennium Commissioner, Chair of Yorkshire Tourist Board and Vice Chair of Postwatch.

Nationally, she serves on the BIG Lottery Fund Board, is a Health & Safety Executive Board Director - with responsibility for small firms and agriculture - and is a Governor of the Legacy Trust.

Regionally she is a member of the Lord Chancellor's Advisory Committee for North Yorkshire for Magistrate appointments, a member of York Minster Revealed's Advisory Board. Judith is also a fundraiser for Ripon Cathedral and her village church and has recently been appointed as a consultant to the Royal Mail Group.

Commenting on her appoint to the British Wool Marketing Board, which is based in Bradford, Judith Donovan said: “As a Bradfordian I feel this is a particularly special honour. I'm very much looking forward to being of assistance to the Wool Board on some of the marketing challenges that lay ahead.”

BWMB Chairman Frank Langrish said Judith would be a great asset to the Board's activities: “I'm extremely pleased to have someone with such excellent marketing skills and wide knowledge of the agricultural industry on the Board.”
