| Innovation Center to revolutionise carpet production | | November 03, 2009 (Tunisia) | | The Tunisian government has set up a Technical Innovation and Renewal Center on carpet making and knitting to boost the skills and provide hands-on training by using the latest technologies such as software, computers and sophisticated equipment in design and innovation.
The integration of technological solutions in development of traditional industries like carpet manufacturing is expected to add value to the final product and as well as strengthen the competitiveness of the carpets in domestic as well as overseas markets and help in creating better employment opportunities.
The Technical Innovation and Renewal Center is currently designing a new up to date and modern technique which hinges on the national heritage and colours to keep abreast of the modern trends. It is also documenting the various materials used in carpets produced in different parts of the country.
