Profits of Chinese wool sector go for a toss

According to data from the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics, 1,563 above-scale enterprises in wool industry in China realized profits of 3.5 billion Yuan from January to August of 2009, down 4.54 percent year on year.
This is 16.83 percentage points lower than the 12.28 percent profit growth rate recorded by the whole industry. Among them, profits of wool top processing industry declined 40.16 percent from January to August.
Profits achieved by wool textile industry accounted for 4.21 percent of the total profits of the entire textile industry, down 0.74 percentage points from the same time last year, which stood at 4.95 percent.
