ASL collaborates with Textile Testing Laboratory Testex

Founded and managed by physicians, Allergy Standards Ltd (ASL) is known for innovations in consumer product test-ing where asthma, allergic sensitivities and health base certification is concerned. ASL has been successfully running its certification programs in the United States and Canada for 6 years with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America and the Asthma Society of Canada respec-tively, and is currently expanding on a global basis.
Existing clients include LG, Dyson and Hollander bedding. Certified product areas can be found in all the large retailers in the USA including Target, Bed Bath and Beyond and Wal-Mart. From its new state-of-the-art laboratory in the Trinity Enterprise Campus, a technology facility linked to Dublin's Trinity College, the ASL facility specialises in immunoassay testing (ELISA) to perform a range of services for manufacturers worldwide. Those services include: product certi-fication, product consulting, indoor environmental certification and consulting, and the detection of bio-allergen and relevant irritant chemicals found in indoor environments.
ASL has recently formed a strategic partnership with TESTEX to help accelerate their growth internationally. TESTEX, an independent Swiss Textile Testing Institute, have been serving the textile industry for over 160 years and are dedicated to laboratory testing of the highest quality. Originally focused on the analysis of raw silk TESTEX soon expanded to cover all textile mate-rials. They are now an international leader in the textile testing area and specialise in Material Testing, Analytical Chemistry and Industrial & Institutional Services.
“Clearly with our knowledge in consumer health product certification and links with the Euro-pean and Asian textile sectors it makes sense for us to collaborate with ASL,” said TESTEX's chief executive officer, Serge Rolle.
“Advancing the cause to create healthier indoor air and healthier consumer products is what drives us daily,” said ASL's chief executive officer, Dr. John McKeon. “We're very pleased to add TESTEX as one of our testing service providers and a strategic partner. As TESTEX has a strong connection to the international textile industry we are delighted to form strong ties with them.”
