Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft stores opens new location in Meridian

Jo Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, the leading fabric and craft specialty retailer in America, is celebrating the grand opening of its newest store in Meridian, MS on December 3. This new store will provide local creative enthusiasts with a wide selection of merchandise and inspiration for craft projects, ranging from scrapbooking, sewing and knitting, to beading, cake decorating and more. Customers will also find a vast assortment of crafting, floral, seasonal accessories, custom framing and finished home-décor items in addition to an expanded selection of fabrics for apparel, crafting, quilting, and home decorating. The new store is located at Bonita Lakes Crossing, 1163 Bonita Lakes Circle in Meridian.
“Opening our first store in the state of Mississippi marks an important milestone,” said Darrell Webb, chairman and CEO for Jo-Ann Stores, Inc. “Jo-Ann is proud to now offer creative inspiration in 48 states.”
“As more consumers turn to sewing and crafting during these economic times, we are pleased to open this new store that offers a wide array of fabrics and sewing items plus an extensive selection of crafting items all under one roof,” said Webb. “Our hope is that customers will feel inspired by our selection, impressed with our team members' knowledge and helpful service and delighted with the value of our products.”
Grand opening festivities will begin Thursday, December 3 and run through Saturday, December 5, with doors opening at 9 a.m. each day. Among the exciting activities during the three-day grand opening celebration:
• Enter to Win! – each day, one winner will be selected to receive a $500, $100 or $50 Jo-Ann gift card
• Great Giveaways! - the first 100 guests each day will receive a $5 Jo-Ann gift card and reusable tote bag
• Hot Offers! - special grand opening sales and offers throughout the store
• Have Lunch on Us! – customers who spend $30 or more beginning at noon each day will receive $10 restaurant gift card (while supplies last)
• Teacher Appreciation Day – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; teachers receive 20% off their total purchase and a free tote bag, while supplies last, with current teacher ID
• Make It-Give It – customers can help construct no-sew fleece blankets that will be donated to Hope Village for Children
In honor of the first Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store to open in Mississippi, representatives from Jo-Ann made a special presentation of gifts for the students of the Meridian City Schools. During the presentation on November 5, each high school received a sewing machine, fabric, trims and notions and the elementary schools and middle schools each received a Provocraft Cricut Expression personal electronic cutting machine and cartridge. “These gifts are our way of thanking the community for welcoming this new Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store, and helping to enhance the curriculum for the students of Meridian,” said Roger Hawkins, regional vice president, southeast region.
