The closing prices of ethylene on December 9 for CFR Northeast Asia stood at US $1,090-1,150 per metric ton, compared to $1,070-1,100 per metric ton prevailing on December 2.
However, ethylene prices of CFR Southeast Asia stood steady at $1,100-1,150 per metric ton, the same price at which it closed on December 2.
In the European markets, ethylene prices for CIF Northwest Europe surged to $990-1040 per metric ton on December 9, when compared with $900-920 per metric ton on the previous Wednesday.
In the Far East region, propylene FOB South Korea, however bucked the trend set by ethylene prices and fell to US $1,070-1,130 per ton, yesterday from $1,100-1,130 per ton on December 2.
Propylene (polymerization level), CIF Northwest Europe, prices too moved from $1,075-1,105 per metric ton to $1,085-1,110 per metric ton, at closing hours yesterday.
