The latest data released by the General Administration of Customs reveals that China's total textile and apparel exports reached US $150.246 billion from January to November in 2009, down 11.15 percent year on year, but the growth rate increased by 0.17 percent, when compared with the first 10 months.
Among them, total textile exports fetched $53.76 billion; apparel exports scored $96.486 billion, to garner negative growth rates of 11.6 and 11.2 percent, respectively. In the month of November, China's total textile and apparel exports realized $13.959 billion, down $692 million from the previous month.
Of which, textile exports in November achieved $5.366 billion, an increase of 7.41 percent year on year while, shipments of apparel and clothing accessories in November registered $8.593 billion, down 17.64 percent year on year.
November exports showed significant differentiation, when compared with statistical data of the last 12 months. Textile exports for the first time entered into a positive phase of growth, but at the same time negative growth rate of shipments of apparel products expanded.
