Export of handicraft products went up to US $44.81 million, recording a growth of 44 percent in the month of November, which was the third consecutive month in which, the country's handicraft items witnessed export hike, as per the data of Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH).

Executive Director EPCH, Mr. Rakesh Kumar expects this growing trend to continue further, and looks forward for fresh orders. Export of handicraft products witnessed positive trend from September this year, following 11 months' contraction, which began in October 2008.

This year, handicraft products' export in the month of September surged up by 177 percent and that of in October by 400 percent, against corresponding months of previous year.
