Abhishek commissions Terry Towel expansion project

Abhishek Industries Ltd announced the commissioning of its new towel unit under Textile Park at Dhulia, Punjab.
The new unit has been commissioned under the Textile Park being developed by Lotus Integrated Texpark Limited, a special purpose vehicle promoted by Trident Group under the scheme of Integrated Textile Parks (SITP) of Government of India.
This new unit is part of expansion programme of AIL's terry towel division which envisaged upgradation of 18 looms and installation of 24 new looms. With completion of this expansion, the total production capacity of the Terry Towel division of AIL has increased 374 looms.
The project has been completed with a capital outlay of Rs. 359.8 million and commercial production on the new facilities has been started with effect from January 2, 2010.
With addition of new manufacturing facilities, AIL would be able fo focus more on value added products for niche segment of high end European and Domestic market. The same will results in increased revenue of terry towel business and better operational margins.
