National Handloom Expo-10 kicks off on Jan 6

The National Handloom Expo-2010 has been organized by the Orissa State Weavers Cooperative Society Ltd (boyanika) from January 6 to 26. The Chief Minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the expo that is offering a common stage to market hand-woven items.
The Orissa State Weavers Cooperative Society Ltd (boyanika) is the only apex society of Orissa, engaged in handloom marketing.
In a bid to give a boost to the handloom weavers in the region, a special package has been introduced in the state in which the weavers are given identity cards and a welfare fund has been created for their development, informed the CM during inaugural ceremony.
