'Source India' to showcase latest Indian textiles

An international Reverse Buyer Seller Meet; 'Source India' is being organized on January 28-29, 2010 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai, by The Synthetic & Rayon Textile Export Promotion Council, Ministry of Textiles (SRTEPC), Government of India. About 200 major sourcing offices of global retailers and brands in India, 500 leading garment exporters from all over India, all leading Indian and international apparel and fashion accessories brands & retailers (Many of whom are turning big importers now) from across India are expected as visitors.

The event is essentially aimed at promoting export of Indian man-made textile products across the world, particularly in the growing markets of Middle-East Asia and Africa. Over 300 Senior business Executives/owners/Directors of importing companies, from Importers in Countries like Saudi Arabia, Syria, UAE, Algeria, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Ethiopia, Morocco are expected to come to the event as visitors. Besides, importers from South Asian Countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh countries and Vietnam have also registered.

Over 100 leading exporters of synthetic textile products like fibers, yarns, fabrics, readymade garments, home textiles and technical textiles, fashion accessories from leading centres like Mumbai, Delhi, Surat, Bhilwara, Coimbatore, Rajasthan, Punjab, Ahmedabad including leaders like Reliance, Grasim, Raymond, Siyaram, Mayur, Garden and several fast growing medium size exporters will be exhibiting at this event. CEOs or senior decision makers from most of these export companies would be present at Source India.

Speaking about the event, Chairman of SRTEPC, Mr. Ganesh Kumar Gupta said, “Source India” will showcase the latest range of Indian MMF Textile items including fibre, yarn, fabrics, home textiles and made-ups to visiting foreign buyers, especially from the Middle East and North African regions. The meet offers a tailor-made opportunity for members of Council to display their latest products, meet visiting buyers and conclude business deals right here in Mumbai."

He added by saying, “The expo is specially targeted at buyers from the Middle East and North African markets, and I would like to assure the visiting buyers that their specific requirements will be taken into account by the more than 100 leading Indian manufactures and exporters, who will put up an exclusive display for them. The meet will also provide a platform for them to sit across the table and discuss the possibility of doing business with their Indian counterparts, besides exploring the possibility of working out joint ventures and other measures to enhance the competitiveness.”
