Technical Absorbents Ltd (TAL) is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Product Development Executive at its UK-based manufacturing facility. The latest recruitment by the Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF) manufacturer has been made possible as a result of the company's programme of ongoing investment, which has been put in place to help it retain its market-leading position.

30-year old James Docherty joins the Super Absorbents Fibre manufacturer as it continues to push the boundaries of innovation and development within the super absorbents sector.

The core business of TAL is the manufacture of SAF at its impressive UK production site. The innovative company is owned by Bluestar Fibres Ltd, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National BlueStar (Group) Co., Ltd – which in-turn is wholly-owned by ChemChina – one of China's fastest growing chemical groups.

Since inception in 1993, TAL has also built strong partner relationships with some of the world's leading specialist fibre converters, roll-goods producers and end product manufacturers. As a result of this, TAL toll manufactures nonwovens, yarns, woven fabrics and finished consumer goods – all containing SAF.

These networks have provided TAL with excellent connections throughout the supply chain and allow it to work more closely with the markets and respond to their changing requirements. “James will not only be involved in the testing and expansion of the current portfolio of SAF products,” explains Business Development Manager Mr Dave Hill. “He will become an integral part of TAL's proactive development group as the company continues to provide its customers with much valued support, industry expertise and innovative ideas and solutions.

“This role needed a person with the foresight to capitialise on realistic opportunities within an established or new market, and with the motivation to help identify new possibilities. James's previous development position in the homecare and pharmaceutical intermediaries sector will definitely stand him in good stead.”
