SILK – the splendid gift of nature to the mankind is loved by all civilizations from time immemorial for its beauty, grace and inimitable images. Its natural sheen, delightful textures and inherent sophistication imparts it the magnificence which no other fiber can substitute.

Of late, this classical fiber has been facing unfair competition from unscrupulous manufacturers and traders of cheaper substitutes which they pass on to the consumers as pure silk depriving the consumers and stakeholders of the real value of silk, despite paying for it. This menace is continuing unabated across the length and breadth of the country.

In order to contain this menace, the Silk Mark Organization of India, under the initiative of the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, has introduced the Silk Mark scheme barely 5 years ago at Bangalore.

The Mumbai Chapter of Silk Mark Organisation of India is celebrating the 5th anniversary launch at Mumbai. To commemorate the event, we are hosting the SILK MARK EXPO MUMBAI -2010 with a wide range of pure silk products from all over India at Coomaraswamy Hall, Prince of Wales Museum, Colaba, Mumbai for the benefit of the consumers in Mumbai.

Its highlights are:
• Expo will open on 9th Feb.2010 and will continue up to 14th Feb.2010 Inauguration on 9th Feb. 2010 at 3:00 P.M.

• The Exhibitors hail from far flung weaving centers of India.

• Only Silk Mark Authorized Users are allowed in the Expo.

• Products are tagged with Silk Mark logo to ensure purity of Silk.

• Golden opportunity for the consumers to see wide range of silk products under one roof.

The Expo will be inaugurated by Capt. (Dr.) L.B.Kalantri,Director of Sericulture, Govt. of Maharashtra.
