Textile sector suffers maximum trade remedy cases

In the period 1982-2008, foreign countries launched 152 trade remedy cases on China's textile and apparel, among them, 87 were anti-dumping cases, 10 cases were security measures and 55 cases were special safeguard measures.
Different from other sectors that mainly suffered anti-dumping measures as single trade remedy, China's textile industry encountered two kinds of trade remedies, the anti-dumping cases and special safeguard measures.
China's textile industry accounted for 93.4 percent of total trade remedies, of which, anti-dumping cases formed 57.2 percent, special safeguard measures formed 36.2 percent. However the sector is yet to witness countervailing investigations up to now.
