65th All India Textile Conference concludes on grand scale

During briefing about the Conference, Shri Arvind Kumar Upadhyay, Chairman, TAI MP Unit & Chief Operating Officer,SKNL, Dewas Operation briefed about the inception of Textile Association and its present position. He also lighted the tremendous opportunity achieved by the Indian Textile & Clothing Industry after the elimination of quotas in January 2005. He also drew the attention of Honourable Chief Guest & Guest of Honour towards the urgent policy inputs required for this industry in the ensuing Central Budget.

Shri Ashok Juneja, Vice President, The Textile Association(India) stated in his Presidential Address that The Textile Association (India) can play an important role in the progress of Textile Industry. He mentioned the main objective of the Association is to organize Seminars, Conference, educational Courses to provide a common platform for free exchange of ideas and information in a friendly atmosphere and to update with latest technological developments among the stalwarts and its implementation and also to award and honour outstanding technologist in recognition of their outstanding performance.He also emphasized that the Textile Association has been playing an important role from time to time in the service of Textile Industry through sharing knowledge to the Textile Professionals by keeping them apprised of up to date happening and developments in the field of textiles.

Shri Arun Yadav, Honourable Minister of State for Heavy Industries, in his speech praised the Indian Textile & Clothing Industry for their contribution to the Nation's growth.He also assured for all assistance from the part of Government for the re-opening of one of the closed Textile Mills in Indore with minimum fund induction. He assured all assistances to the industrialists, who wish to invest in the field of textile & clothing Machineries manufacture from the part of Government.

Further, he pointed out the shifting of Ginning Factories from Madhya Pradesh to Maharashtra mainly because of Tax variation between both the states, for which he drew the attention of Madhya Pradesh Government for appropriate action.

Shri A.B. Joshi, Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, in his address appraised the initiatives taken by the Government of India for Indian Textile & Clothing Industry. He also informed that Government is in its consideration for the set-up of Textile Park in Chhindwara District of Madhya Pradesh.

Shri Krishna Murari Moghe, Mayor, Indore Municipal Corporation followed by Shri Ramesh Chandra Agrawal & Shri Mukund Chaudhary, in their addresses narrated the importance of Textile Industry & its clothing industries & the problems faced by them, and drawn attention of Honourable Ministers for the safeguard of prestigious sector.
