The 15th edition of SPINEXPO Shanghai will be held at the Pudong Expo Centre on March 9th-11th, 2010.

140 spinners and textile fibre promoters will present their Spring/Summ er 2011 collect ions to buyers in the flat-knit (sweaters) and circular-knit (T-shirts and knitted fabrics) sectors, weavers in the garment and interior indust ries and manufacturers of lingerie, lace and hosiery.

The fair's offering reflects a growing trend in the textile industry with an increase of companies from Asia, and a shrinking and regrouping of individual European companies: innovation is no longer restricted to Europe. The reinforcement of R&D facilities of Asian, particularly Chinese textile groups, results in Asian collections that are increasingly technically innovative with yarns that are especially sophisticated and creative.

As a result, SPINEXPO has strengthened the presentation of its trend area by bringing together the interpretations of several designers and textile universities from different countries and continents. This trend area looks towards the future and new technologies with the utmost confidence and aims at highlighting stylistic changes due to new technologies employed by world leading textile machinery manufacturers present at the fair.

Stoll International Fashion and Technology Center Shanghai will be presenting the new China Trend collection SS 2011. A variety of structures and garments will be shown combined with trend and technical information. The new Stoll Pattern Library, edition 4 has been launched which is related to Jacquard knitting. Beside this the new education tool “Knit ABC” has been completed by Volume 2 Jacquard. It identifies structures starting from basic stitches (vol. 1) including stitch notations and original swatches. It is an educational resource for teaching or internal company training with the purpose of fundamental knitting knowledge. The Fashion and Technology services can be obtained at the F& T Centers Reutlingen, Shanghai and New York.

Santoni from Italy, worldwide leader of seamless machinery and part of the Lonati Group foremost supplier of socks and hosiery knitting machinery, will be present at SPINEXPO for the very first time with two innovations: new and never before exhibited complete rib border seamless knitwear, up to the finest gauges in very high productivity, and seamless warp garments made with the first specially designed Compact Seamless Warp machine. Santoni will show a complete collection of seamless knitwear made with a circular knitting machine in association with the designer G. Cavagna and Santoni's Fashion & Technology Department. These various types of knit structures include eyelet fabrics and sober mini-jacquards that can be mass-produced and require very little post-knit processing.

For the very first time in the trends area, the SPINEXPO range of colours will be presented in the form of long knitted banners, thanks to a partnership with the Huafu Group. Small samples of each colour will be available for the visitors to assist them with the development of their collections. The basic concept behind the Forum is to enable visitors to stroll through barrier-free areas where they will be able to peruse the latest in knit stitches and different technologies, see prototypes developed by experienced designers and the interpretation of these trends by textile university students from Asia and Europe, with new elaborations and developments from leading textile machinery manufacturers permeating the presentation.
