Abhishek Industries bags Texprocil Gold Trophy

Leading towel manufacturer Abhishek Industries Limited (AIL) has won two prestigious awards from the Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council of India (TEXPROCIL) for the year 2008-9. The company has bagged a Gold Trophy for highest exports in Madeup Category for Towels besides a Bronze Trophy for the Highest Global exports for Textiles, for the year 2008-09.
The awards were conferred at the high profile ceremony of the 55th Texprocil Export Award Function by Chief Minister, Government of Tamil Nadu, Dr. Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi at Chennai on February 13, 2010. Hon'ble Union Minister for Textiles, Government of India, Thiru. Dayanidhi Maran, also presided over the function.
Speaking about the achievement, Mr. Rajinder Gupta, Managing Director, Abhishek Industries Limited said, It is a great honour indeed. For us, every recognition brings a challenge to further excel and inspires us to raise the bar each time. And it shall be our endeavour to keep providing the best to our stakeholders.
The total textile exports of the company in the year 2008-09 were Rs. 686 crores. In the current year with addition of new manufacturing facilities and market reach of 65 countries across the globe, AIL would be able to reach a figure of about Rs. 800 crores of exports. The company is further initiating to enhance its presence in the international markets and has set an export target of over Rs. 1000 crores for the year 2010-11.
In the recent past AIL has been awarded with many coveted awards by retail big wigs like IKEA, Walmart, JC Penney etc. Abhishek Industries Limited is the flagship Company of INR 2500 crores Trident Group, India. The Company is committed to position itself as most reliable global Company for Home textiles. It figures amongst the world's largest terry towel manufacturers, world's largest wheat straw based paper manufacturers and amongst one of India's largest yarn spinners. It has interests in Chemicals & Power Generation too.
