Govt pro-active on need to boost textile exports – Minister

Responding to questions in the National Assembly during question hour, Minister for Textile Industry Rana Farooq Saeed Khan stated that in order to boost exports of textiles, a five year textile policy has been announced by the government.
Apart from which, three garment cities have been established in Karachi, Lahore and Faisalabad besides which, a textile city is being set up in Karachi.
He also said that in order to safeguard availability of cotton yarn in domestic market the government has resolved to fix a ceiling on its export at thirty-five million kilogram per month.
