Cancellation of 9th World Sheep and Wool Congress

It is with regret that we wish to inform you that the 9th World Sheep & Wool Congress, set for 6th to 9th April, has been cancelled.
For over two years, major organisations have met, and supported this project.
From the beginning, we sought to promote an inclusive approach to both the congress planning and content, and all major industry sectors, and organisations (including AWI and MLA), were part of the planning process.
Extensive consultation was made with producers and other industry representatives, to plan and complete an extensive, inclusive agenda, which addressed the concerns and issues affecting the Australian and global sheep and wool industry.The Australian Federal Government also supported the congress and the planning process.
We wish to thank the Commonwealth and New South Wales governments and all those organisations that have been behind this concept and supported the process, including the need for this forum.
We are deeply sorry we have not been able to bring the congress to fruition.
