Island composite filament market flat

Island composite filament market was flat last week (8 to 14 March), only 225D witnessed demand. Market price of island composite filament DTY225D was focused at 16,500-16,600 Yuan per ton, other varieties faced unfavorable market conditions.
225D is mainly woven with DTY75D / 72F to produce weft suede and the content of 225D in the fabric is as high as 65 percent. The fabric is woven on air-jet looms with high-density satin vein changes in texture.
Trade activities of warp-knitted fabrics FDY75D/24F were slow, production of downstream enterprises slightly cut, market transactions of island composite filament declined, therefore, trade volume of FDY island composite filament appeared quiet.
DTY105D/36F × 37 island composite filament still had some demand, but price was battered down to a very low level by buyers.
The current trend of polyester raw materials in upper reaches is weak, while demand for island filament in lower reaches is small; the market has shrunk in volume, but the price of island filament stands above the cost line.
The price of island filament is expected to go through a smooth transition. Trade volume of island filament is expected to expand in late March, as entire textile market gradually gets better and better.
