Chinese yarn output up in February

China's national yarn output registered 1.63 million tons in February 2010, representing an increase of 10.1 percent year on year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
From March 2009 to February 2010, total spinning output amounted to 12.45 million tons, an increase of 2.07 million tons, or 20 percent year on year.
In February, due to strong sales of cotton yarn, average price of cotton carded yarn 32s reached 21,246 Yuan / ton, up 118 Yuan / ton, or 0.6 percent from the previous month.
In February, the average price of polyester staple fibre marked 10,325 Yuan / ton, 360 Yuan / ton, or 3.6 percent higher than the previous month.
In February, the spread between mainland standard cotton and polyester staple fiber was 4,611 Yuan / ton, down 418 Yuan / ton from the previous month.
