Anti-dumping measures had been imposed on imports of polyester staple fibres (PSF) originating from China, which is on the verge of expiring and is now up for review.
The European Commission has received a request for a review of the anti-dumping measures and protection against dumped imports from countries not members of the European Community.
The request was lodged in December 2009 by the European Man-made Fibres Association (CIRFS) on behalf of producers representing a major proportion, in this case more than 25 % of the Union production of polyester staple fibres.
CIRFS has put in the request, based on the grounds that the expiry of the measures is likely to result in recurrence of dumping and recurrence of injury to the Union industry.
