This year, Peruvian textile exports are likely to go up by 15 to 16 percent, estimated Mr. Martin Perez, Peru's Foreign Trade Minister, which industry entrepreneurs have anticipated at 10 percent.

He further said that drawback rates might be reduced from 8 percent to 6.5 percent from the month of June, in case of an effective recovery of general exports.

The increase in drawback rates had been approved at the end of 2009, in order to support the exporters to deal with global financial crisis.

The exporters should get habituated to the fall in dollar exchange rate, stated the Minister, as it is anticipated that this rate will continue to drop in the short term on account of the stability of Peruvian economy.
