Sick spinning mills to be revived in Maharashtra

On the lines of sugar industries, the Government of the state of Maharashtra will take measures to stimulate sick spinning mills, assured the state Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Chavan in the State Legislative Assembly.

Proposals have been received for setting up a number of spinning mills, but most of it is still on paper; or have not attained financial closure or they have set up plants which are still lying idle, informed the CM intervening in a debate, on closed spinning mills, during the question hour.

Financial problem is the biggest issue of many spinning mills; hence they are looking upon the government for the funds required for the entire project. However, it not possible for the government to fulfill their complete requirement of funds, stated Mr. Chavan.
