“It was definitely a good decision to have suppliers grouped together offering their products. This separation makes it easier for the right buyers to come through our booths, as they will know what they are looking for and where to find it,” said Mr Chamsi-Pasha Samer, Sales Director for the UK's exclusive menswear fabric supplier Hield. He further commented: “The buyers have matured and they are much more professional. We will certainly return next year – this is the industry's premier textile event!”

Regular visitor, Ms Sylvia Yip, Merchandising Manager for Impact 21, Hong Kong agreed with Mr Samer's remarks. “The layout is great! I have been able to find all the products that I need very easily.”

Throughout the three-day event, exhibitors continued to observe the high levels of professional and serious buyers sourcing this year. “To a great extent, the results at this show have exceeded our expectations,” stated Mr Kamil Khan, Marketing Manager for first-time exhibitors, Kohinoor Mills Limited, a denim manufacturer from Pakistan. “We have been able to meet with a number of garment makers and a considerable mix of high-end potential customers.”

Praise for the buyers continued: “Buyers here are very quality conscious yet they are surprisingly less concerned with price points. The China market is certainly beginning to align their design demands with those from Europe and the US,” noted Ms Yoo-Seon Song, Assistant manager for Korean suppliers RND Textile Co Ltd.

Aside from the business, exhibitors also praised the Interstoff Asia Directions trend forum display, which was directed artistically by the NELLYRODI Agency this year. Exhibitor's fabrics were selected and displayed according to 4 themes that were: Jubilant Mosaic, Island Extravaganza, Romantic Evasion and Mystical Orient.

“This was a great promotional tool for us to use and has even helped us attract more visitors,” mentioned Mr Toshiyuki Ishmori, a representative from the head office for Sojitz Fashion Co from Japan. Ms Ge Ya Zhu, a buyer for Chinese company Sogna, reinforced Mr Ishimori's sentiments. “The trend forum has been an excellent source of inspiration plus the detailed tags attached to the fabric samples made it simple for me to find the right suppliers.”

Other highlights this year included the first full day of design & trend seminars lead by internationally renowned industry professionals. Among them were Mrs Ornella Bignami of Elementi Moda, Pantone, Stylesight and WGSN and many more.

Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics also took place alongside the China International Clothing & Accessories Fair (CHIC) and Yarn Expo Spring (for apparel fibres and yarns).

The next Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics scheduled from 30 March – 1 April 2011.
