The offering prices for cotton remained firm in the week under report. The availability of the requested origins and qualities was further reduced after the government of India had interfered into the business and several other growths were not at the market for the time being. The local spinning mills still showed interest in cotton for the near date. However, also first transactions for delivery from the coming crop were reported.

In the upland range contracts were concluded in West African styles for delivery until the end of the 2nd quarter 2010; Central Asian classes through beginning of the 3rd quarter 2010 and Greek descriptions from the new crop for loading in October through December 2010.

From the market segment of fine- / extra fine cottons contracts were registered in Egyptian GIZA 88 and GIZA 86, Israel Pima, and Sudan Barakat - all for prompt. For shipment / delivery in the 1st quarter 2011 were traded: Israel ACALPI and Pima, as well as USA Pima.
