Mills looking at delayed cotton deliveries

Enquiries shifted to later dates during the week under report. Mills did no longer selectively search for prompt delivery, but also for the third and fourth quarter 2010. As the new crops will then be available only in parts, the scale of the offered growths and qualities still remained reduced. India's export ban had also impact on cotton prices, and irritated potential buyers and prevented the conclusion of contracts.
In the Upland range, turnovers were registered in Central Asian sorts for prompt and until the end of the 3rd quarter 2010, West African styles for the 3rd and 4th quarter 2010, as well as Greek descriptions from the new crop for loading in the 4th quarter 2010.
No sales of fine-/ extra fine cottons were reported.
