Spandex market to maintain stability

In recent days, spandex market has maintained stability. In the previous week, trading price of dry-spinning spandex 20D ranged between 73,000-91,000 Yuan / ton in East China.
Price of melt-spinning 20D ranged between 62,000-70,000 Yuan / ton; that of 30D was 63,000 -71,000 Yuan / ton, of 40D 54,000-60,000 Yuan / ton and spandex 40D for warp ranged between 58,000-68,000 Yuan / ton.
Prices of upstream raw materials have increased after May Day. Pure MDI and PTMEG have increased by 500 Yuan and 1,000 Yuan to 19,000 Yuan / ton and 25,000 Yuan / ton, respectively.
A review of the trends from January to April reveals that, spandex prices had maintained stability with upward momentum and now that inventories from before the Spring Festival have come to an end, the month of May will see a new round of procurement.
Spandex market will remain relatively stable in May, after the upward correction in earlier times. 20D prices are expected to be flat or may rise in the short term, as supply is tight, while total supply of 40D will become increase leading to a fall in prices.
