This season's wool price looks like being the best for several years but sheep producers can further improve their wool income by delivering their clip directly to the network of Intermediate Depots set up by the British Wool Marketing Board across the UK.
Gareth Jones, the BWMB's Producer Relations Officer, says the main benefit of Intermediate Depots to sheep producers is that there's no haulage charge for delivering wool to one of the nine depots that will be operating over the coming months.
“The network of Intermediate Depots will provide producers with the highest level of service they know they can rely on from the Wool Board in their region. We're committed to providing all producers with a high quality service and to undertaking the collection and handling of the national clip as efficiently and as economically as possible,” said Mr Jones.
